The absolute best food in downtown San Rafael! Period! I travel to San Rafael for work and in a collective 2 trips (2.5 weeks total), I've been here 5 times. Every menu item I've had has been fantastic, including: shrimp Caeser salad, fried chicken, sticky ribs, pizza, and shaken beef. The cherry on top is the Altered State Belgian Golden Trappist Ale. As a traditional Belgian beer hyperfan (Gulden Draak, St. Bernardus abt. 12, etc...), Altered State is phenomenal! Thanks, Matt and the entire team, and thanks for the crowler of Altered State! Two more going out the door tonight! Salud!

Best thing about the State Room: the service. Our waitperson was exceptionally friendly and accommodate. We felt instantly welcome and were well taken care of. We went in just looking for my favorite snack, fries and a beer (don’t judge) but my wife insisted on eating, too. She ordered a cinnamon roll and a mimosa off the brunch menus. The cinnamon roll is cooked and served in a small iron skillet. It looks much better than it tastes. The mimosa was so good, however, that we traded up to a carafe. My fries were plentiful and my beer (a Presidential Porter, ABV 5.5%, $8) perfect for the wintry cold.

A great pub and brewery on 4th street with a large patio in front and a comfortable setting indoors with seating for small and large groups. The wood fired pizza was excellent and went well with their craft beer. There's an abundance of character and good taste in this place.

Got pizza, salads,a beef dish, appetizers, garlic noodles and all of it was pretty good and not over the top expensive. The hostess was awesome and patient. Be sure to try the spicy green beans

Confirmed, the service is exceptional. We were greeted promptly, given the seat we wanted, our puppy got a treat and a bowl of water, we got full glasses of water and all thus before we even looked at the menu. The burger was great, the party was cooked perfectly and was uniform thickness. The kitchen needs to work on the fries (the cut is too small and they are over fried). The beers were very good, we tried their Belgian and Stout. The reviews were good and we chose to drive out of our way, and I'm glad we did. Thank you and keep the great service up!
